Dr. Marium Waqas

Dr. Marium Waqas is a medical graduate from Dow Medical College, Karachi, with over 12 years of public health experience particularly in reproductive health. Over the past years, her focus has cut across research, health systems strengthening, policy advocacy, and media sensitization on reproductive health issues including family planning and postabortion care. Recognized for her expertise in Values Clarification and Attitude Transformation (VCAT) and Providers as Advocates (PAA), she is also skilled at building strategic alliances and strong relationships with key stakeholders in the country. Prior to joining National Committee for Maternal and Neonatal Health (NCMNH) as Head of Project (Naya Qadam) on post-pregnancy family planning, Marium has worked with Palladium on Health Policy Plus, and Ipas. She has a strong passion and commitment to advance women’s sexual & reproductive health & rights, in an otherwise challenging environment.
